Social Media Strategy Intern
The Social Media Strategy Intern will work as a member of the GoalFace social media and community moderation team and will be responsible for staying abreast of conversations and trends occurring in the soccer social media and online community space. Among the duties of the intern, he/she will be expected to:

  • Help define and drive social media outreach activities
  • Be respectful, be kind, be a connection between GoalFace and its community
  • Share information about hot topics and provide regular reports about social media and online community activity with teammates
  • Read and respond to fan message board posts, comments and email
  • Review message board threads for potential action, as needed
  • Police the community space for behavior which violates the Terms of Service
  • Assist as needed with other customer support responsibilities

Requirements :

  • A passion for professional sports
  • A desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Even-tempered, with the ability to objectively enforce site policy
  • Excellent verbal skills for clear communication (reading/writing)
  • Works well within a team structure, but also high level of autonomy
  • Ability to multi-task well
  • Must have a presence on social networks and other online community sites (sport-related a plus)
  • Knowledge of most popular social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc) and stays abreast of upcoming technologies
  • A personal computer with Internet access
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus

Football Research Intern
The Football Research intern will perform research and compile and manage data on several aspects of professional football, including players, teams, leagues and tournaments. Applicants must be able to commit at least 6-8 hours per week. Among the duties of the intern, he/she will be expected to:

  • Must have experience planning and conducting journalistic or academic research type and the ability to provide value-added analysis
  • Must have a strong interest in football and sports generally
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be well organized and demonstrate an ability to work independently
  • Must have strong computer skills, including MS Excel and Access
  • Experience and familiarity with in sports information and data resources is a plus

Front End Developer Intern
Part-time, contract position.
The Front End Developer intern will assist in creating and building the GoalFace experience and developing the UI for the web site. Applicants must be able to commit at least 6-8 hours per week and to work independently, multi-task and prioritize on the fly. Among the duties of the intern, he/she will be expected to:

  • Must be passionate about football (soccer) and building great user experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, design or a related field
  • Proficient in XHTML, Java Script, Flash or other front-end programming languages
  • Familiarity with Flash, PHP or equivalent programming languages is a plus
